Obituary for Thomas Jones
Thomas “Tommy” Edward Jones, age 73 of Cartersville, Georgia, sadly passed away on November 5, 2022.
Born April 28, 1949, in Jasper, Georgia, Tommy was the son of the late Thomas Gerald Jones and Kathrine Margaret Jones. He is also preceded in death by his young daughter Beth Jones.
Tommy is survived by his sister Brenda Jones Garland (Howard); his daughters Rebecca Hollands and Melissa Jeffries; his nephew Tony Greene; as well as several grandchildren and other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Tommy served our country in the United States Army as a medical specialist and earned a National Defense Service Medal. He loved his girls dearly and spoke of them often. After he left the military, he worked as a truck driver for Kennesaw Transport and worked for the city of Kennesaw for a time. Tommy also really enjoyed NASCAR and attended several races. He is very loved and will forever be missed.
A visitation will be held for Tommy at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A committal service will take place at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
