Obituary for Virginia "Ginny" Middleton Brown

Virginia “Ginny” Brown, 84, of Cartersville passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Blue Horizon Personal Care Home in Kennesaw.

Born on August 22, 1936 in McCormick, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Hugh Calhoun Middleton and the late Virginia Fox Black. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Dr. Grover J. Brown; and her brother, Bert Black.

Ginny was a homemaker who spent her life being a devoted wife, mother, and nana. She loved her family and will be remembered for being an absolute angel that always saw the best in everyone. All who knew her loved her. Ginny loved the outdoors, birds, dogs, playing tennis, gardening.

Survivors include her children, Grover J. Brown, Jr. (Carolyn), Connie Brown Lide (Brooks), Susan Brown Richardson, and Stephen D. Brown (Heather); her siblings, A.B. Black (Pat), and Pete Middleton; her grandchildren, Bryn Richardson (Lindsey), Will Richardson, Maggie Richardson, Rose Marie Brown, Dr. Grover Brown III, Margaret Brown, Caroline Lide Hanson (Michael), Carly Lide Readmond (Bryce), Addison Brown, and Tate Brown; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Richardson, and Virginia Hanson.

The family will hold a private memorial service.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions in Ginny’s honor to Sam Jones United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
