Obituary for Wayne Adams
Wayne Owen Adams of Cartersville, GA, passed away, Sunday, October 2, 2022. Born on July 10, 1946, in Cartersville, GA, he is the son of the late George Adams and the late Joyce Adams. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Sheila Adams and his second wife Dorris Matthews Adams, and his brother Jimmy Adams.
Wayne was a loving father and grandfather. He was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and cooked for many church functions. He enjoyed cooking and for years he catered with his wife Sheila. Wayne was a big fan of college football, especially the Georgia Bull Dogs. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved traveling, hunting, and fishing. Every month, Wayne looked forward to the Cass High graduating class of 1964 socials.
Survivors include his children Becky Brookshire (Glenn), Wesley Adams, and David Adams (Lena); grandchildren Tyler Brookshire (Alex) and their son Trey, Garrett Brookshire, Jake Adams, Bailee Adams, Dave Adams, and Darby Adams; siblings MW Adams (and his late wife Sue Adams), Sammy Adams (Sherry), and Wanda Adams; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Clinton Green and Pastor Sammy Adams officiating. The family of Wayne, will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
