Obituary for William "Curly" E Alverson

William E. “Curly” Alverson, 88, of Cartersville passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born on February 25, 1933, in Anniston, Alabama he was the son of the late Sidney Alverson and the late Adalee Perrion Alverson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Molly Alverson; and his sisters, Lizzie Hunt, Martha Knight, Libby Cox, and Anna Lee Barnette.

Curly was of the Baptist faith. He was employed as the body shop manager at City Motors until his retirement. Curly loved to piddle on old cars and motorcycles; he also loved his dog, Shelby.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Dot Alverson; his children, Bill “Chichi” Alverson, Mike Alverson, Scott “Choo Choo” Alverson (Pam); his grandchildren, April Luallen (Leroy), Melisha Porter (Jimmy); his great-grandchildren, Landyn Durham, Brooklyn Durham, Bryanna Wallin, Kristopher Wallin, and Cody Luallen; his great great-granddaughter, Athena Shropshire; his special friend, Terry Kelley; and his brother, Billy Waters.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 with Reverend Keith Willard officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Landyn Durham, Brooklyn Durham, Kristopher Wallin, Josh Durham, Leroy Luallen, and Jimmy Porter. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be, Bryanna Wallin.
