Obituary for William Staubach

CW2(R) William S. Staubach (Bill) of Daleville, AL died on February 20, 2019 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga TN. He was cared for and resided with his daughter in Cartersville, GA for the last two years.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 29, 1928 to the late William F. Staubach and Mildred E. Staubach. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda Sachiko Staubach; and his siblings, Patricia Johanson, Helen Twaddle and Arthur Seaman.

Bill Staubach, a veteran of 3 foreign wars (WWII, Korea and Vietnam), was an aviator who flew helicopter missions in Vietnam. He later became a flight instructor and then flight commander with various companies contracting with the Army.

Throughout his life he enjoyed many hobbies including flying fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft. He also loved to teach his friends and family how to fly both. In addition, he enjoyed hunting, skeet shooting, scuba diving, riding motorcycles, traveling the world, judging BBQ contests and fixing just about anything for his family and friends. He was amazing.

Survivors include his daughters, Patti Galli of Florida, Theresa Robinson of Cartersville, GA and his son, Billy Staubach of Alabama; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
