Obituary for Willie E. "Bill" Stutler

Willie Earnest Stutler, 73, of Kingston passed away on May 7, 2020 after a lengthy illness in hospitals in Cartersville and Atlanta.

Born in Parkersburg, WV on January 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Wilbur Gorden Stutler and Gadys Gail Stutler. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, WV where he played football and was on the 1965 State Championship Track Team. He started working in the construction industry upon graduation, working in various locations including West Virginia, Kentucky, St. Thomas, VI, and Guatemala prior to moving to Georgia where he lived and worked since 1984.

Bill, as he was known by his friends and family, was generous to a fault, never met a stranger and always tried to find good in everyone he knew. He had a passion for life and always found a way to include a bit of humor in everything he did. He was an auctioneer for 28 years and loved the challenge to find the unusual hidden treasure and always had a tall tale to tell about items he sold to keep the audience laughing.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Stutler, who he had an unconditional, unselfish love for 53 years. He is also survived by his children Willie Earnest Stutler, JR, Shelia Renee Stutler, Randall Scot Stutler and Timothy Bryan Stutler; 8 grandchildren Diana Marie Davis, Richard Dustin Davis (Jessica), Victoria Stutler Biggs (Albert), Brandy Stutler Grimmett (Charlie), Billy Wayne Stutler, Chelsey Rose Stutler, Timothy Bryan Stutler, JR, Preston Scot Stutler; 10 great grandchildren Jacob Zabludousky Castillo Davis, Kristina Paige Creech, Stephen Wyatt Creech, Brooklyn Stutler, Miguel Rossi-Averill, Landon Biggs, Charlie Biggs, Stephen Ward, Brian Ward, Josh Ward; 3 sisters Thelma Winans (Jack), Helen Sue Daugherty (Ralph) and Norma Stutler; 3 brothers Ronald Stutler (Sharon), Donald Stutler (Joyce) and Robert Stutler (Trish) and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Gladys Stutler, brothers Wilbur G. Stutler, JR, Charles Stutler and infant sister Grace Anna Stutler.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date as conditions allow so that family and friends may participate.
