Aaron Dover

Mr. Aaron (Sarge) Dover, 72 of Cartersville, passed away Tuesday, October 01, 2013 at his residence. Born June 19, 1941 in Chattooga County, he was the son of the late Tiney Glenn Dover and the late Georgia Payne Dover.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Earl Dover. Mr. Dover was retired from the United States Army, having served in Germany, Vietnam, Korea and a member of the Special Forces Unit. During his career he was also employed by Union Carbide, The Cartersville Country Club and was self-employed. He was an active member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church, the Elks and the American Legion. He loved to play golf, fish and play cards.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne Dover; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Charla Dover and Scott and Pam Dover all of Cartersville; His daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and Mike LaBounty of Sanford, NC.; his grandchildren, Justin and wife, Keena , Jessie, Mackenzie, and Samantha Dover, Taylor and Morgan LaBounty; three great-grandchildren, Mady, Kaiden and Kyrie; his twin brother, Marion Dover of Lafayette, Jim and Willis Dover of Trion; his sisters, Kay Bomar and Nell Bryan of Ringgold; a beloved aunt, Katherine Brock of Trion; his uncle, Lee Payne of Felectic, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Ringwalt officiating. Interment will take place prior to the service on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with full military rites. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m., Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
