Agnes Duckett

April 23, 1916 — December 9, 2013

Mrs. Agnes Ray, 97, of Cartersville, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at Cartersville Heights. Born in Oneonta, Alabama, April 23, 1916, she was the daughter of the late A.K. Graham and the late Mollie Abrams Graham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley "Bud" Ray; her brothers, Alvin Graham and Thomas Davis; her sisters, Virginia Temples and Lula Knowles; and a grandson, Jerry "Andy" Ray. Mrs. Ray was retired from the Cartersville Undergarment where she made many lifelong friends. She was affectionately known as "Maw Maw" by her grandchildren to whom she loved dearly. Taking trips to the Smokey Mountains was something that she enjoyed doing.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, James Ray, Jerry Ray and his wife, Beverly all of Cartersville; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue Johnson and her husband, Walter of Smyrna; her brother and sister-in-law, Royce Hobgood and his wife, Virginia of Fairmount; her grandchildren, Mickey (Jody) Ray, Johnny Ray, Tammy (Jason) Gravley and Teresa (Steve) Brubacher nine great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2013 from the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Jessie Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m., until the funeral hour.
