James Alan Cook of Cartersville, GA., passed away on September 10, 2024 as a result of injuries received in a motorcycle crash.

Alan grew up in in Gwinnett County and graduated from Berkmar High School.  He was a graduate of Georgia State University and later received a Masters Degree in Education from Reinhardt University.  Alan enjoyed many outdoor activities such as bird watching with his wife Paige and kayaking with his son Alex.  He was a beloved teacher in the Cartersville and Bartow County School Systems for the past 13 years.

Alan is survived by his wife of 26 years, Paige Orr Cook and his 19-year-old son Thomas Alexander "Alex" Cook; parents James "Jim" Cook and Patsy "Pat" Cook of Gainesville, GA; brother Brian Cook; Sister-in-law Deena Cook; Niece Caitlyn Cook all of Jefferson, GA; Father-in-law Tom Orr of Waynesville, NC; and many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Noon on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home in Cartersville, Georgia.
