Alan Smith

Mr. Alan �Wayne� Smith, age 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA, after a long struggle with heart disease.



Mr. Smith was born in Greensboro, NC on January 4, 1949, to Paul Smith and the late Vivian Smith. He moved to Atlanta while an infant with his parents. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps.



Wayne will be greatly missed by his father, Paul Smith; a daughter, April Flame Sexton; a grandson, Hunter Wade; a sister, Tyanne Smith, and many friends and family.



A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at 10:30 A.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 12:30 P.M. in the Georgia National Cemetery with the United States Marine Corps conducting military graveside rites.



The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.
