Alta Long

Alta Ann Long, 81, of White, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 peacefully at home. She was born in Gallup, New Mexico, on April 2, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Bahe Jones and Daisy Jones.
She was a homemaker, loved cooking, sewing and gardening. She will be missed greatly by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, John W. Long; son, Jeff Long; one sister, Loretta Jones; three brothers, David, Nathan and Leonard Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah White; son, David Long; eight grandchildren, Chris Bohannon, Nicole White, Brittany Stanley, Bradley White, Tyler White, Amber Long, Justin Long and Faith Long; four great-grandchildren, Aiden and Elijah Stanley, McKenna Roberson and Gracie Long; four brothers, Luther, Calvin, Finley, Authur Jones and sister-in-law Mary Shepherd; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Chaplain Mitzi Oats officiating. Interment will follow in Ryo cemetery in Fairmount, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
