Alton Raymond Marshall
1947 – 2023

Alton Raymond Marshall, 75, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully Saturday, February 25,
2023, at his home in Bow & Arrow Mobile Home Park, Cartersville.

He was born in Worth County, Georgia on July 19, 1947, the son of Carolyn Bartlett Marshall and the
late Alford Ray Marshall. He moved to Cartersville with his family in 1967. Raymond served as an SP4
for the U.S. Army in Vietnam from February 5, 1969, to September 15, 1970. Most of his life was spent
as a truck driver. He had many friends, and, in recent years, you could find him frequently at Waffle
House bantering with the staff and friends.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Arlene "Vickie" Mulkey of Cartersville, and
his brothers, Glenn Dewayne Marshall of Cartersville, Bobby Randall Marshall, and Bonnie Odell
Marshall of Worth County.

Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Bartlett Marshall of Townsend Park Health & Rehab, Cartersville;
his sister, Kay Lynne Craig, and husband, Eric, of Florida; his daughter, Deborah Lorraine Marshall
Hartline, and husband, Kevin, of Centre, Alabama; and his son, Brandon Knowles, and wife, Nisa, of Azle,
Texas, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On March 7, 2023, family and friends attended a private service at the Georgia National Cemetery in
Canton where he was laid to rest with honors.
