Mr. Alvin Leroy Pavelka, 93, of Woodstock, died on Friday, May 04, 2018 at Tranquility @ Kennesaw Mountain.
He was born on October 16, 1924 in Spring Ranch, Nebraska, and was the son of the late William J. Pavelka and Agnes E. Mazour Pavelka.
Mr. Pavelka was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Cartersville and was self-employed as a in farmer. He was a veteran, having served his country in the Navy during WWII, a member of the veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post #256, which are in Fairfield, Nebraska. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Viola Dorothy Ostdiek Pavelka; his daughter, Sheila Pavelka; and his son, Lynn Pavelka.
Survivors include his children, Arlene Quellet of Woodstock, Bonnie Machin of Acworth, Cheryl Waples of Lincoln, Nebraska, Darrel Pavelka of Wichita, Kansas and Brian Pavelka, of Atlanta; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in Nebraska and announced at a later date.
