Amanda Griffith

March 4, 1979 — September 7, 2008

Amanda Laresa Griffith, 29, of Adairsville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus and to receive her heavenly reward on Sunday, September 7, 2008. Born March 4, 1979 in Marietta, she was the daughter of Gale Evans Thomas and Chuck Davis. Amanda was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ed Evans, and her mother-in-law, Mariessa Gibbs Wilson.

Amanda and her husband, Carll, met in 1999 and were married in 2000 at the Roselawn Museum. She loved people, was full of life, and loved being the center of attention. She especially enjoyed being the social butterfly at church events, serving as room mom for her daughters classroom, and planning parties for the neighborhood. Amanda was probably world famous for the birthday parties she planned for her daughter.

Amanda was also a hard worker who never complained about any task she was given. She worked for years for Lowes in Acworth and most recently had worked for Unity National Bank in Cartersville as a teller. Whether at work, at home, at church, or at Northside Hospital fighting leukemia, Amanda touched the lives of everyone who surrounded her. Amandas family and friends will miss her loving, giving, and creative spirit.

Survivors include her husband, Carll Griffith; her daughter, Madison Griffith; her mother and step-father, Gale and Terry Thomas of Adairsville; her father and step-mother, Chuck and Renee Davis of Cartersville; her brothers, Bud Davis and Bobby Davis, both of Cartersville; her step-brothers, Andrew Thomas and Alex Thomas, both of Rome; her grandmother, Rena Evans of Cartersville; her father-in-law, Doyle Griffith of Atlanta; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her neighbors who truly loved her like family.

A celebration of Amandas life will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in the chapel at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Rena Evans and Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The gathering of family and friends will be from 6 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

It was Amandas dream to develop a teddy bear ministry for the children of St. Judes Hospital once she had recovered from her illness. So the family will accept flowers; however, they request in addition to flowers or in lieu of flowers that teddy bears be brought to the gathering of family and friends Tuesday to be donated to St. Judes Hospital in Amandas honor and memory.

Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville is in charge of the arrangements.
