Ann Chandler

Lavonia Ann Chandler, 77, of Acworth passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at her residence. Born May 31, 1931, in Phenix City, Alabama she was the daughter of the late Roy Rumsey and Ella Rumsey. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Derek Allen Chandler and her brother Robert Rumsey.



Mrs. Chandler was a homemaker who loved to play with her kids and grandkids and enjoyed bowling. She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Dogwood Hills Community Church in Waleska.



Survivors include her husband, Fred E. Chandler Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Homer Thompson Sr. of Canton; her sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Connie Chandler, of Rome and Fred Chandler Jr. of Cartersville; six grandchildren and their spouses, June & Stanley Underwood, of Canton, Pamela and Mike Shepard, of Dawsonville, Elizabeth Thompson and Stephen Ball, of Rome, Melissa Thomas and Maynard Crane, of Canton, Trinity and Christopher Ashworth, of Canton and Homer Thompson Jr. and Anna Poe, of Canton; Nine great-grandchildren, Brandy and Brandon Underwood, Caleb, Haley and Evan Thompson, Courtney, Natalie and Chandler Ashworth and Collin Thomas all of Canton.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday March 11, 2009, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville GA 30120, with the Rev. Mac Evans and the Rev. James Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery.



The family will receive friends 6 � 9 p.m. Tuesday March 10, 2009. Serving as pallbearers are Herbert Cox, Mike Shepard, Christopher Ashworth, Brandon Underwood, Maynard Crane, Hershell Ledford, Bobby Adams and Caleb Thompson. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
