Annie Stewart

Mrs. Annie Ruth Chapman Stewart, age 92, of Cartersville, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

A native of Bartow County, born April 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Lanier Chapman and Tennie Blackmon Chapman. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed watching movies on TV, going to the beauty shop every week on Thursday and spending time with her children. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ches Stewart; her daughter, Glenda Locklear and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Roger) Knight, Sharon (Gary) Hicks and Kenneth Stewart; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Mr. Tony Collum officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon – 1:30 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.

Brian, Hunter, Kyle and Dalton Southern, Chris Dutto and Teddy Chitwood will serve as active pallbearers. Jimmy Crisp will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
