Arlene Jones

Arlene Marie Jones, 86, of Euharlee died Friday January 15, 2010 at the Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome, Georgia. Born in Troy, New York on May 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Edwin C. Buchwald and the late Eva Ruoff. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Kivlen, and her grandson, T.C. Pelkey.



Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Jones was employed by Hillcrest Hospital in Pittsfield, Massachusetts as an operating nurse. She enjoyed reading and was a very good parishioner at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Dalton, Massachusetts.



Survivors include her children, Lorraine Watson of Shannon, Georgia, Cynthia Wise of Euharlee, Georgia, Louis David and Elmeta Pelkey of Monroe, Georgia, and Donald Pelkey of Dalton, Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.



The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.



In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to the American Heart Association.
