Austin Mathison

Mr. Austin Lee Mathison, 19, of Rome died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Floyd Medical Center. Born September 8, 1993 in Bartow County, he was the son of Joey Mathison, Sr. and Angela Roberson Mathison. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Mathison, Sr.
Austin was a member of New Hope Chapel Baptist Church in Rome and was employed for Ladds Farm Supply in Cartersville. He enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his parents, Joey and Angela Mathison of Rome; his sister, Bridget Mathison of Rome; his brothers, Joey Mathison, Jr. and Randy Mathison both of Rome; his grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Mathison of Cartersville; and his grandparents, Melvin Roberson of Rome and Sandra Roberson of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Drew Brown and the Reverend Charles Lively officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Mathison, Jr., Randy Mathison, Charles Junior Mathison, Stanley Mathison, Roger Mathison, Freddie Mathison, Michael Roberson and Victor Galvan.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to New Hope Chapel Baptist Church, 3194 Cartersville Hwy-Hwy 411, Rome, Georgia to help with final expenses.
