Mrs. Barbara Sue Finch, age 75, of Adairsville, GA, died Thursday, November 18, 2010, in a Rome hospital.
Mrs. Finch was born in Calhoun, GA, on June 2, 1935, the daughter of the late Carl Pelfrey and Katie Lou Sanders Pelfrey. She was a member of Adairsville Church of Christ. Mrs. Finch enjoyed her grandchildren and loved watching cooking shows. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Finch was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Finch and brothers and a sister-in-law, Morris Pelfrey, Robert and Geneva Pelfrey, and Curly Sutton.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Mike Bowman of Scottsville, GA, Vickie and Michael Smith of Bogart, GA, and Jill Finch of Scottsville, GA; grandchildren, Rocky and Kristy Bowman, Kandi and Matt Vander Ploeg, Cody Baldwin, and Amber Thurman; a brother and sister-in-law, Marlin and Ellen Pelfrey; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Bowman, Logan Bowman, Dylan Vander Ploeg, and Bradyn Vander Ploeg; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle Sutton, Melba and Lewis Wilson, Patricia and Virgil Story, Martha and Johnny Holbert, Charlotte and Jackie Bowman and Sandra and Larry Garland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Adairsville Church of Christ with Minister Steve McCaslin officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery. Mrs. Finch will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel.
