Barbara Gayton

Mrs. Barbara Collins Gayton, 67, of Adairsville passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness. Born on November 29, 1943, in Cartersville she was the daughter of the late Albert Joseph Collins and the late Clara Sue Grant Collins. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Diane Gayton.



Barbara was employed as a bus driver by the Bartow County School System. She was also a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing at church, shopping, cooking for her family, and gardening. She never met a stranger. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and friend and will be missed by those who knew her.



Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, Reverend Harley Gayton; her daughters and son-in-law, Tracy and Tony Shinall, and Kelly Gayton and Welby Archer; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Holly Gayton; her sisters and brother-in-law, Jeanette Jones, Betty Jo and Dea Kelly, and Martha Faye Collins; her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Sandy Collins; her grandchildren, Angela Gayton, and Abby Gayton; special sisters, Motty, Betty, and Rachel Hazelwood; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Phillip Chapman and the Reverend David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. on Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd. Cartersville, GA 30120.
