Barbara Hadden

Mrs. Barbara Jean Hadden, 68, of 212 Dogwood Dr., Cartersville passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Douglasville on March 10, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Vance, Sr. and the late Ruby Lee Vance. Mrs. Hadden was also preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Vance.

Mrs. Hadden had owned and operated a children's day care before her retirement. In addition to her love of children, she enjoyed cooking and gardening. She had also been a choir member at her church in Reidsville. Mrs. Hadden was a member of The Church at Liberty Square.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Henry A. Hadden of Cartersville; her daughter, Vickie Ann Hadden of Cartersville; her sisters, Gertrude Spinks of Cartersville and Lurene Daniell of Cartersville; and her brothers, Chapel Vance of Metter and Thomas Vance, Jr. of White, and was the foster mother of 18 children.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2007 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Joe Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Saturday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
