Barbara Law

Mrs. Barbara Lee Wells Law, age 71, of 5554 Old Calhoun Road, Shannon, GA, died Sunday, October 7, 2007, at her residence.

Mrs. Law was born in Floyd County, GA, on May 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph Levi and Mary Elizabeth Goddard Wells. She was a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She loved gardening, needle work, and collecting antiques. Also, she enjoyed cooking and baking. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Law is preceded in death by two half brothers and two step-sons.

Mrs. Law is survived by her husband, Emmett Law of Shannon; two sons, Gregory Neal Brown and Joseph Wells Brown both of Rome, GA; two step-daughters; a step-son, Michael Law of Shannon; numerous grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Betty Wells of Rome; and two sisters, Evelyn Lee of Rome; and Mary Elizabeth Robinson of Jackson, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Law will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Tuesday by 10:30 A.M.: Daniel Law, Jeff Law, Brent Law, Cody Clark, Mike Carnes, Bruce Carnes, and Terry Carnes.
