Barbara Middleton

June 22, 1933 — October 21, 2011

Barbara Gay Middleton, 78, passed away Friday, October 22, 2011 at her son�s residence where she was being cared for by her family. Born June 22, 1933 in Mize, Mississippi she was the daughter of the late Harold Atha Blackwell and the late Vida Elizabeth Glisson Blackwell. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank D. Middleton Sr. whom she married on June 12, 1955 also her granddaughters, Jamie Lee Middleton, and Sarah Meagan Middleton.



Barbara was an educator for over 20+ years having worked in several school systems including Texas, Mississippi and Georgia as an administrator, assistant principle and teacher. Barbara was employed as a principal with the Bartow County School System from 1973 until the time of her retirement. She was a member of Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Barbara was also a member of the Retired Educators Association and the Corra Harris House Foundation.



Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Frank D. Middleton, Jr. and Suzanne, Clifford Allan Middleton and Jan, and Weldon Middleton and Janet; her daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Long and Rick, and Theresa Plunkett and Cristopher; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Betty Blackwell-Cook, and Zelma Rea Kennon.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011at Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Mark Rackley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
