Barbara A. Shinall, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the age of 88. A longtime resident of Rydal, GA, Barbara touched the lives of many with her caring heart and unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
Born on July 12, 1937, Barbara was nurtured in a loving family environment by her late parents, Willie Carl Stinnette and Gladys McCoy Stinnette. She found great joy in serving as a dedicated mother and homemaker, channeling her efforts into the betterment of her children's education and lives. Her perseverance in this regard ensured that all three of her children achieved the milestone of a college education.
Barbara was a cherished member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where her faith and service embodied her life's values. She offered sound advice to her best friend John Jr., who was also her caregiver. Among her many joys were antiquing and traveling with her husband, John Shinall, Sr., who preceded her in death.
Barbara's legacy lives on through her surviving family: her children, Cheryl Shinall, John Harvey Shinall, Jr., and Steven Shinall and his wife Kandi; her adored grandchildren, Julie Shinall and Monica Shinall; her brothers, John Stinnette and Harry Stinnette; and her sisters, Betty Fender and husband Julian, Carlene Gator, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud L. Stinnette & Betty Jean, W.C. Stinnette & Beverly, Conroy Gator, and Margie Stinnette.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, officiated by Keith Willard. Following the service, Barbara will be laid to rest at Vaughan Cemetery in White, GA. Family and friends are invited to gather and remember Barbara's life and legacy from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the same day at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Barbara's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
