Barbara White

Mrs. Barbara Faye White, 85, of Cartersville, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on October 15, 1931, the daughter of the late Forrest Anderson and Ruth Anderson.

Mrs. White was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She had many friends and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Education from Lincoln Memorial University and taught at Pine Log Elementary School most of her career. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George L. White and her siblings, Joe Anderson, Jimmy Anderson and Nancy Anderson Reeves.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (Stanley) Kilgore of Chatsworth, Georgia, David (Linda) White of Jacksonville, Florida, and Karen (Jeff) Nowlin of Calhoun, Georgia; her grandchildren, Linda Faye Kilgore of Harrison, Tennessee, Joseph (Sarah) Kilgore of Chatsworth, Georgia, Davis Wilkey of Calhoun, Georgia, Trent Wilkey of Fairmount, Georgia, and Stephen White of Jacksonville, Florida; her great-grandchildren, Maddox Wilkey, Bryson Wilkey, and Hunter Kilgore; her special friends, Kenny, Rose and Kendra; her siblings, Jane Anderson Watts, Frankie (Harry) Holland, and Linda (Marty) Anderson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Mr. Bobby Gayton and Mr. Corey Barnette officiating. Interment will follow in Whitwell Memorial Cemetery in Whitwell Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday January 16 at the funeral home.
