Beatrice Wickman

Mrs. Beatrice E. Wickman, 85, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Winchendon, Massachusetts on November 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Byam Ward and the late Lillian May Bosworth Ward. She was also preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Harold Eugene Wickman; her daughter, Betty Jane Pavlosky; her brothers, Richard Ward and Kenneth Ward; her sister, Ruth Leger; and a grandchild, Steven Richard.



Mrs. Wickman was an expert seamstress and had been employed as a stitcher with Thayers Manufacturing. When WWII began, she became a �Rosie the Riveter� as many women who were part of America�s greatest generation. Mrs. Wickman had moved to Georgia over thirteen years ago and was very active at the Bartow Senior Center at Beavers Drive. She enjoyed playing pool, line dancing, crocheting, and playing Chinese checkers. Mrs. Wickman especially loved taking road trips with her daughters to destinations unknown.



Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Baker and Norma Richard and her fianc�, Jim LaRoche; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Richard, Bonnie and Brian Stephen, Timothy Richard, Heidi and Jose Marti, Christine and Christopher Harty, Corrie and Peter Norman, and Zachary Pavlosky; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Dunton, Carsyn Jane Harty, Rylee- Anne Harty, Ali Jane Norman, and Brandon Jacob Darby; her sister, Pauline Lashua; a son-in-law, Arnie Pavlosky; and a number of nieces and nephews.



Graveside services will be conducted at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire.
