Benedict Lucco

Mr. Benedict "Ben" De Lucco, 80, of Cartersville passed away Friday, April 4, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born September 4, 1927 in Dolgeville, New York, he was the son of the late Benedict Castronovo and the late Rose Lattori Castronovo.

Ben was a veteran of the United States Navy having served his country during World War II. He was also a retired carpenter and enjoyed traveling, gambling, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Louise De Lucco of Cartersville; his daughter, Rosemary Lowery of Naples, Florida; his sons, Frank De Lucco of West Palm Beach, Florida and Michael De Lucco of Mexico; his step-daughter, Judi Hart of Fort Lewis, Washington; his step-son, Jerry Lawler of Cartersville; his sisters, Mary Nalli of Hialeah, Florida and Gloria of New York; his half-sister, Jenny Crawford of Okeechobee, Florida; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in the Georgia National Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Russell officiating. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Carl Boyd Post # 42.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the North Georgia Alzheimer's Association, 855 Abutment Rd., Suite 6, Dalton, GA 30721.
