Bernice Leachman

Bernice Leachman, 76, of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome.

Born March 5, 1937 in Hinesburg,Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Sorrell and the late Helen Bell Sorrell. Mrs. Leachman was co-owner of Leachman Trucking Company along with her late husband, Troy Leachman, Sr. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband and. and a sister, Arletta Sorrell.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Michael Cotita of Temple; her son and daughter-in-law, T.E. and Jill Leachman of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Chelsey Leachman, Savannah Leachman and Michaela Leachman all of Cartersville, Dustin Barton of Armuchee; a sister, Audrey Bean of Hinesburg, Vermont; and her brothers, Charles Sorrell of Burlington, Vermont and Glenn Sorrell of Tennessee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Forrest Leachman officiating. Interment will follow in the Leachman-Johnson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
