Ms. Bessie Mae McCord, age 90, of Rome, GA, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 in Floyd Hospital.
Ms. McCord was born in Briton, GA on October 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Savannah Hunter. Ms. McCord attended Doyle Baptist Church and she assisted and retired as a Nursing Aid at Fifth Avenue Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Survivors include her daughters, Louise Sparks and spouse Dale of Rome, GA; Charlotte Gilreath of Rome, GA; Brenda Holt of Rome, GA; her only son, Robert McCord of Houston, TX; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 4:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Turner and Rev. Leonard Crawford officiating. Interment services will follow in the Morning View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 11, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.
