Betty Amos

January 19, 1939 — March 22, 2010

Betty Joyce Barnette Amos, 71, of Cartersville passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born January 19, 1939, she was a lifelong resident of Bartow County and was the daughter of the late Frank O�Neal Howren and the late Alma Kelley Howren. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wilson Barnette; her second husband, Jimmy Amos; her brother, James Ray Howren; her grandparents, Samuel and Sarah Young Kelley and Frank Neal and Lena Owens Howren; and her grandson, Raymond Sorrells.



Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Tant and her husband, Dennis Brown, and Theresa East; her sons, James Dewayne Barnette and his wife, Donna, Billy Lamar Amos, John Henry Amos and his wife, Debra, Samuel Clifford Amos, David Scott Amos, and Ronald Shane Amos; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Royce Hobgood, Margaret Alexander, Faye Gee, and Wanda and Dale Hornbuckle; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Aubrey and Glenda Howren and Jerry and Bertie Howren; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marshall and Wilma Amos, Charles and Roberta Amos, and Jerry Amos; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. David Summey officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Sammy Amos, Jr., Josh Amos, Justin Amos, Corey Amos, Christopher Perkins, and Lamar Perkins. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
