Betty Austin

Mrs. Betty Jane Hartley Austin, 79, of Lady Marion Drive, Rome, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Austin was born March 5, 1929 in Coweta County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Alton and Eva Jones Hartley. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married August 8, 1943, Ivey Dewey Austin, 1984; a daughter, Judith Elizabeth Austin Ogle, 2002; and her son, Michael Dewey Austin, 2000.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Charles L. Owens of Rome; grandchildren, Melissa Owens, Samantha Owens, Sebrina Bowman, Tabitha Ellison, Leonard Owens, Charles Owens, Franklin Trammell, Johnny Trammell, and Thelmalina Trammell; great-grandchildren, Ricky Bowman, Keri Bowman, Courtney Master, Amber Ellison, Bethany Ellison, Mollie Owens, and Megan Owens; great-great-grandchildren, Raven Owens, Scarla Master, Savana Master, Alliyah Master, Jordan Owens, Sebrina Wills, and Logan Wills; her sister, Reba Lambert of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina also survives.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Austin will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 12:00 Noon from the Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Cater officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M.

Pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday by 11:30 P.M. and include, Daryl Yates, Leonard Owens, Charles Owens, Ricky Bowman, and Adam Master.
