Betty Gentry

Betty Marie Gentry, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born in Alabama on March 16, 1941; she was the daughter of the late William Frank and Mattie Lou Welchel. She was also proceeded in death by her two sisters, Elizabeth Henson and Gail Harris.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn Gentry of Rockmart and Jason Gentry of Cartersville, one granddaughter, Jessica; one great grandson; sister, Mary Worthington of Calhoun, two brothers, Lamar Welchel (Donna) of Kingston, Bill Welchel of Cartersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty only had two sons, but she was the mother to many. She was wonderful at giving her nieces beauty tips.   Betty was an avid gardener and loved any types of flowers.

Betty was retired from Nan-Tucket and worked at Belk's in Cartersville for many years afternoon. Betty was a kind and loving person to everyone she met.

A celebration of life will be held at Atco Baptist Church in Cartersville on Saturday 4/12 @ 1:00.
