Betty Grant

Betty Joyce Grant, 73, of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at her residence.

Born on April 16, 1946 in Tate, Georgia she was the daughter of Emmitt Lee Padgett and Ruby Bell Caldwell Padgett. Joyce was a homemaker that loved her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed camping trips to the mountains and fishing. She also enjoyed collecting Indian knick-knacks, coloring, playing bingo, music, and listening to the Eagles. Her favorite song was "Last Date" by Floyd Cramer.

Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Jimmy Ray Grant of Cartersville; her daughters, Sandra Lynn Ryan of Canton, Hope Michelle Beck of Cartersville, and Christina Perreria Laning (John) of Cartersville; her sons, Daniel Lee Beck, Tommy Ernest Beck (Penny) of Talking Rock, Ricky Dewayne Beck (Jodie) Hanceville, Alabama, James Grant (Lori) of Dalton, and Charles Grant of Dalton; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, her sister, Wanda Faye Dorsey of Canton; her brothers, Jerry Padgett of Tate, Randall Padgett of Canton, Don Padgett of Waleska, and Wayne Padgett of Canton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Johnny Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Derrick Beck, Cody Parker, Jonathan Laning, Kevin Dorsey, Turner Blackwell, and Jacob Dorsey.
