Betty Patterson

June 30, 1934 — August 28, 2011

Mrs. Betty Mize Patterson, 77, of Cartersville, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Toccoa, Georgia on June 30, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Wade Mize and the late Jessie Whitman Mize. Preceding her in death are her parents; her first husband, Frank Gibby; her second husband, Donald Patterson; her brother, Glenn Carter; and a sister, Jerry Carter Beene.



Mrs. Patterson was of the Baptist faith and was family focused. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and in her garden. Mrs. Betty loved to can veggies and to make jelly showing her skills as an avid gardener. She also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves.



Survivors include her sons, Wade Gibby of St. Augustine and Frank Gibby of Athens, Tennessee; her daughters, Rebecca Little of Ocoee, Tennessee, Cindy Patterson of Cartersville, Vickie Brown of Ocoee, Tennessee, and Angela Davis of Cartersville; her sisters, Theny Housley of Marietta, Rebecca �Becky� Brock of Ellijay, Mildred Wills of Marietta, Helen Payne of Toccoa, Georgia, and �Pete� Bowman of McDonough; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Keith Milner presiding. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 2 � 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Betty Mize Patterson.
