Betty Wood

Betty Jo Wood, 54, of Cartersville died Friday, August 28 at the Heartland Hospice House in Cartersville. Born July 4, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Ivey and the late Layla Faye McIntyre Ivey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Wood; her brother, George Allen Ivey; and her sister, Linda Louella Bowman.



Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Jennifer Wood, Randall Wood, and Chris and Mary Wood; her daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Lee West, Malissa and Bill Melton, Cynthia and David Huey, and Monica Sisk; and twenty-two grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Howard Davenport and Rev. Johnny Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.



Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Melton, David Huey, Albert Ramirez, Jesse Ramirez, Adam Bagley, Cody Melton, Dylan West, and Chris Melton. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brian Wood, Zack Huey, Nicholas Wood.
