Bettye Burgess

Mrs. Bettye Jacobs Burgess, 82, of Dallas, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Powder Springs Nursing Home. Born in Floyd County, August 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Henry Jacobs and Bessie Collier Jacobs.
Mrs. Burgess was a member of Mt. Paran Church of God and was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and reading. She was retired from the Center of Disease Control (CDC) as a Nutritional Bio-Chemist. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Burgess, Jr. and a son-in-law, David Justus.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim Justus and Vicki Daniel both of Dallas; her grandson, Chip Patton; and her sisters, Margaret White of Marietta, Lois Hyde and Joann Johnson both of Rome;
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Floyd Memory Gardens with the Reverend Clinton Green officiating.
