Billie Selman

Mrs. Billie Jo Selman, age 48, of 3575 Old Dalton Road, Rome, passed away unexpectedly at the residence on Thursdays, May 13, 2004. Mrs. Selman was born on December 15, 1955 in Floyd County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Billy J. Adams and Wanda Davis Adams. She was a very sensitive, caring and giving person. Mrs. Selman was a caregiver to many terminally ill older people. She loved gardening and cooking. Mrs. Selman loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and adopted mother, Frances Trapp, who all meant the world to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Teddy Adams.Survivors include her husband, Arthur ( Artie) Selman, Jr.; son, Fred Williams, III of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Kansas Michelle Williams of Jacksonville, Fl and Brandy Nicole Selman Switzer of Jacksonville, N.C.; adopted mother, Frances Trapp; grandchildren, Rod Adams Selman of Rome, Dawson Hunter Switzer and Trenton Wayne Switzer both of Jacksonville, N.C.; brother, Richard J. Adams of Rome; sisters, Sheila Gail Thacker and Trina Marie Oakes both of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 16 at 1:00 pm at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev, Edward Holsomback and Mr. J. Parnick Jennings, Sr. officiating. A private internment will be held later.The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, (Saturday) from 7:00 until 9:00 pm. The service arrangements for Mrs. Billie Jo Selman are under the direction of Jennings Oaknoll Chapel Funeral Home, 2542 Shorter Ave., Rome.
