Billy Joe Adams, a beloved father, paw paw, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at his son's residence in Cartersville, GA. Born and raised in Cartersville, Billy spent his 71 years surrounded by the town and people he loved.
Billy was born on November 12th, 1954, to Jesse and Clara Adams. He was a devoted son brother, and paw paw, and his memories will continue to live on with his family and friends. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Sherman Smith, and siblings Tommy Brown, Harvey Adams, Anthony Adams, Bobby Adams, and Kenneth Adams.
For 49 years, Billy dedicated himself as a maintenance worker at Shaw, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he cherished spending time with his family, finding joy in the laughter of his grandchildren and the warmth of his great granddog, Zoey Milner.
Billy had a passion for fitness and indulged in his love for karate and golf whenever he could. Family meant everything to Billy, and he especially enjoyed Sunday dinners surrounded by loved ones.
He is survived by his son Billy Joe Adams Jr. and his wife Amy; daughter Misty Adams; and grandchildren Olivia Mumaugh, Angel Adams, Corey Ingle, Jack Adams, Hunter Ingle, Kadejah Adams, and Lyrica Milner (Kyler Johnson). He also leaves behind his loving siblings Jerry (Cathy) Adams, Sue (Bill) Cantrell, and Vickie Adams Dupree; and sister-in-law, Sadie Brown.
