Billy Boyd

Mr. Billy Henry Boyd, 84, of Cartersville, widower of the late Mary A. Boyd, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at his daughter's residence in Panama City Beach.

Born December 13, 1934 in Maryville, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Marion Boyd and the late Geraldine Smith Boyd. Mr. Boyd was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was known for being a brick mason, builder and developer. He was a devoted husband and father who worked very hard to provide for his family. He especially enjoyed hunting with his sons. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Boyd; brothers, Jack Boyd and Junior Boyd; and sisters, Della Faye Teague and Jennie Mae Adams.

Survivors include his children, Dale Boyd of Cartersville, Rita Boyd of Panama City Beach, and Mike Boyd and his wife Libby of Cartersville; grandchildren, Nicholas William Boyd and Brandy Ann Boyd; great-grandson, Talon Ferguson; brothers, Bobby Boyd and Jerry Don Boyd, both of Cartersville; sister, Linda Sue Baron of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with The Reverend Juan Anzora officiating. Mr. Boyd will lie-in-state from 1-2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 9th, 2019 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 850 Douthit Ferry Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120 in memory of Billy.
