Billy Stanfield, Sr.

Mr. Billy Ray Stanfield Sr., age 62, of Lilburn, GA died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at a local hospital in Snellville Ga.Mr. Stanfield was born in LaFatette, Walker County, Georgia on August 17, 1942, son of Mrs. Willie Stephens Stanfield and the late Ernest Stanfield. He was employed with Technicarbon from 1962 until 1999 and enjoyed playing with his great grandson, Jesse Ray Martin Jr. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Martha Stanfield; two sons, Billy Ray Stanfield Jr. and Ernest Keith Stanfield of Lilburn, GA; grandson, Sgt.Derrick Stanfield who is serving in Iraq; granddaughter, Sheri Michelle Stanfield of Lilburn, GA great grandchild, Jesse Ray Martin Jr.; mother, Willie Stanfield of Shannon, GA; three sisters, Forestine Ward of Coosa, GA, Peggy Stanfield of Tucker, GA and Katrina Estes of Adairsville. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy D Stanfield.Funeral services for Mr. Stanfield will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 31, 2004 in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. William Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.Mr. Stanfield will remain at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00- 9:00 PM and at other hours will be at the residence of his mother, Willie Stanfield, 50 Third Street, Shannon.The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet at Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home by 1:15 P.M.
