Billy Stephenson

June 1, 1937 — May 5, 2025

Billy Ray Stephenson, 87 of Cartersville, passed away on May 5, 2025. He was born in Lakeview, Georgia on June 1, 1937 to the late James and Mozelle Kendrick Stephenson.

In his younger days Billy enjoyed drag racing and water skiing. He was the youth director and bus driver for First Baptist Church. Billy was a delivery man for Meals on Wheels. He owned and operated S-M Building Supply in Cartersville for over 30 years. He proudly served his country in The United States Marine Reserves.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Ripple Stephenson; son, Jimmy Stephenson (Deborah); grandchildren, Collin Stephenson and Jessica Smith (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Alaina Smith and Ellie Smith; siblings, Fred Stephenson (Kay) and Leroy Stephenson; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services are being planned and will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Cartersville First Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Cartersville First Baptist Church from 11:00 am -12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Dietz Cemetery in Ringgold Georgia.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the general fund at Cartersville Baptist Church.
