Billy Warren, Sr.

Billy Joe Warren, Sr., age 69, of Cartersville, died Thursday, April 02, 2009 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Fulton County on March 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Jimmy James Warren and Eva Mae Murrow Warren. He was a member of David Street Church of God and was a landscaper by trade. Billy was a hard worker, had a hearty appetite, loved to fish, to garden and to go turtle gigging. Preceding him in death are his parents; one brother, James Warren; two sisters, Shirley Hood and Nina Holcombe.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Virgie Lee Warren of Cartersville; his sons, Billy Joe Warren, Jr., Gaston Warren, Tryce Warren, Simon Peter Warren and Tony Warren; his daughters, Kathleen �Pat� Hancock and Ethel Craig; his sisters, Linda Smith and Easter Sunday Ogles; his brothers, Jerry Lee Warren, Benny Warren and William Warren; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009 at David Street Church of God with Rev. B.J. Piatt officiating. Burial will follow in Cassville Cemetery. Mr. Warren will be carried to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 1 � 2 p.m.

The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, Ga. on Friday from 5 � 8 p.m.
