Blake Lawrence Wilson, 52, of Bartow County, Most beloved husband and devoted father passed from this earth September 2, 2010. Born in Indiana, May 9, 1958 he was the son of Ray Wilson and the late Martha Bratton Wilson.
Blake proudly served his country in the Marine Corps for over nine years as
a Drill Instructor, Recruiter and in other capacities. After his service Blake settled in Georgia to raise his family with his wife Cathy. He was a gifted and talented Craftsman who built custom cabinets and furniture; he later honed other talents and became a skilled remodeler. He enjoyed reading, nature, camping and history, but most of all his family.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Cathy Wilson; his son Nathan Wilson; his daughters Melinda Wilson, and Crystal VanWieren and her husband Aaron; his father Ray Wilson; his brother Clay Wilson, his sister Ainslie Morgan; brother and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Blake will be dearly missed by all. Semper- Fi.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday September, 17, 2010 at Georgia National Cemetery with Chaplain Ron Vonhitton officiating.
Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Blake Wilson.
