Bobby Durden

Mr. Bobby Hogan Durden age 73, of Rome, GA, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 in a local hospital.



Mr. Durden was born in Fayette County, GA on December 10, 1936, the son of the late Albrey Durden and Nellie Carrie Durden. He retired from International Union of Operators Engineers Local #926 with over forty years of service. In addition to his parents Mr. Durden was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Streetman and a brother, Lee Durden.



Survivors include his devoted wife of twenty-three years, Carolyn Kelley Durden of Rome; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ted Durden and Sharon Gray of Morrow, GA and Robby and Sharon Durden of Cave Spring, GA; a daughter, Shelia Guice of Henry County, GA; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Poncho Padilla of Riverdale, GA, Angela and Mark Bennett of Rome, and Beth Blalock of Rome, GA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Thomas and Allen Durden. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Ineichen officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until the funeral hour in the Oaknoll Chapel.
