Bonnie Smith

February 21, 1926 — April 25, 2019

On Thursday Evening around 9:15, Bonnie Lila Nolan Smith, 93 years old, got her Wings. She was born on February 21st, 1926 in Cherokee county, and lived in various areas. Her life was filled with joy, even though some of her days were challenging. Hard work didn't stop her, she began working at an early age and when she was 62 she retired from Shaw Industries. When she was 17, she found the love of her life, Juan (Joe) Smith. They were married in 1943 on July 24th. When Juan passed in 2003, they had been married 59 years. During which time they were sweethearts enjoying every minute they had. In 1959 they were blessed with a bundle of joy, Vickie Elaine Smith Wade. They were so thankful to have her because before Vickie arrived she had two miscarriages and a son, Charles, that only lived 10 days. In 1964 God blessed them with a son, Randy Wayne Smith. Their family was complete now, or that's what they thought. When in 1966 they received the news of another birth, a daughter, Elizabeth Darlene Smith Tanner. Her heart was fuller than she could ever imagine. She loved her children, husband, family and friends that helped her along the way. She was a great legacy, and she was loved by everyone. Even strangers felt welcomed by her sweet spirit. Her children grew up and married.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Juan (Joe) Smith; an infant son, Charles Smith; parents, John and Arie Wilson Nolan; father and mother-in-law, Cuthbert and Lorena Smith; sister, Celia Hackett.
