Mr. Boyd Martin, 76, of Adairsville passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 8, 1947 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Dewey Martin and the late Josephine Reagan Martin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Rudy Martin, Herman Martin, Inez Highfield, Dixie Wheeler, Thelma Thacker, and Geneva Kelley.
Boyd was a man who loved traveling and collecting antique cars; when he wasn't working on cars for a living, he loved to buy, sell and trade old cars; but more importantly, he was a man with a heart of gold who loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Jeanette Chafin Martin; his children, Jarrett Martin (Kelly), Darrin Martin (Tonya), Stephanie Silvers (Shane), Machelle Gray (Patrick), and Lacrecia Clark (Robert); his grandchildren, Hunter Martin (Millie), Blake Martin, Justin Martin (Roxanne), Amanda Martin, Carlee Silvers, Caylee Silvers (Kross), Stephen Williams (Hillery), Hanna Myers (Colby), and DJ Brookshire (Ashley); and his twelve great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Josh James officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the funeral home.
