Mrs. Brenda �BJ� Reed, 56, of Cartersville, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital. Born in Fort Benning, Georgia September 17, 1955, she was the daughter of Jean Lanier Shaak and the late E.W. Shaak. Preceding her in death along with her father is a brother, William Shaak.
Brenda was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and was employed by the Dollar General Store. She had a great personality and was a very wise woman. She enjoyed camping, driving fast and her dog.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Howard Reed of Cartersville; her sons, William B. Reed and Thomas Reed both of Cartersville, Randall Reed of Port Charlotte, Florida; her daughters, Heather Butts Blackmon (Sam) of Houston, Texas and Regina Bates (Joseph) of Cartersville; her mother, Jean Lanier Shaak; eight grandchildren; her brothers, Timothy and Donnie Shaak; her sister, Beth Shaak ; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. John Lemmings and Rev. Larry Silvers presiding. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at 1:15 p.m., Saturday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and will include: Brian Silvers, Kevin and Ricky Sheriff, Mark Dupree, Jeff Croft and Jerry Richey.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
