Brett Cook

Corporal Brett Austin-Chandler Cook, 22 of Cartersville passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Born in Cartersville on January 3, 1996 he was the son of Melissa and James Shepherd of Cartersville.

Brett was a 2014 graduate of Cartersville High School where he was a member of the CHS Band. He was living his dream of serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Atco Baptist Church and a member of Carpenters for Christ. Brett loved his family and was above all a devoted father.

Survivors include is momma and step-dad; his daughter, Lily Grace Ann Cook of Kingsland, GA; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jordan Cook (Danielle), Cole Barkley (Bre), Hunter Shepherd, and Lucas Shepherd all of Cartersville; his grandmother, Becky Hart (Kenney) of Adairsville; his aunt, Sharon Camp (Chris) of Cartersville; grandfather, Joe W. Cook of Cartersville; his great-grandparents, Carrie and Billy Langford of Lafayette, AL; his uncle, Joey Cook (Melissa) of Rome; his special cousins, Ashton Cole and David Cole; several nieces and nephews and additional family; and the mother of his daughter, Alexandria Cook of Kingsland, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Michael Boatfield officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan Cook, Cole Barkley, Matt Hancock, Austin Hancock, Michael Cook, and David Cole.

Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make contributions in Brett's honor to Toys for Tots.
