Mr. Calvin Andrew Highfield, age 40, of Rome, died suddenly at his residence Friday, June 11, 2004.Mr. Highfield was born in Floyd County, April 10, 1964, son of the late Gladys Geraldine Childress Highfield and Robert Lee Allen Highfield. He had spent his entire life in Rome and Floyd County, was of the Baptist Faith and had been employed by Sara Lee Bakery and by Top Side Mobile Homes. He was a Nascar enthusiast, a big fan of Jeff Gordon, and also enjoyed gardening.Survivors include; his wife, the former Debra Sue Culpepper to whom he was married October 27, 1994, a son, Robert Andrew Highfield , of Rome, 2 daughters, Alesha Deyoung. and Brandy Williams both of Rome, his father, Robert Lee Allen Highfield of Cave Spring, a brother, Torie Childress of Garden City, GA, two half sisters, Tammie Lowe of Gadsden, Alabama, and Debbie Smith of Rome, three half brothers, six grandchildren several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mr. Calvin Andrew Highfield will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 15, 2004 in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Gordon Brewster in charge of graveside rites.The body will remain at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 12Noon until time for services.Active Pallbearers serving include; Bobby Twilley, John Couey, Robert Beason, Rod McKinney, Lynn Lawson, and Vernon Williams.
