Carey Tidwell

Carey Tidwell, 81, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Heartland Hospice House. Born in Bartow County on September 22, 1927, he was the son of the late Johnny Dudley Tidwell, Sr. and Callia Evans Tidwell. Preceding him in death are his parents; his brothers, J.D. Tidwell, Arthur Lee Tidwell, and Earl Tidwell; and his sisters, Thelma Tidwell and Coreen Cornwell.



Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Phyllis Tidwell of Cartersville; his granddaughter, Shawna Ledford and her husband, Roy; his great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Dawson Ledford; his brother, David Tidwell of Rockmart; his sister, Zuella Atkins of Cartersville; and a special sister-in-law, Florence Tidwell of Cartersville.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Joe Nix officiating. Burial will follow in the Cassville Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Don Tidwell, Weldon Tidwell, Harbin Tidwell, Doug Fortner, Eddie Mills and Dale Black. These gentlemen are asked to meet at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday at 1:15 p.m.



The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 31021.
